How To Configure Call Settings

1. Navigation to Call Settings


To access the Call Settings section:

  1. Click on Calls in the left navigation panel.

  2. Select Settings from the submenu.

  3. The Call Settings page will appear with multiple configuration tabs.

2. Call Settings Tabs

The top of the page contains different tabs for configuring various aspects of call behavior:

  • General – Configure outbound caller identity.

  • Service codes – Set up custom service codes.

  • Call barring – Restrict outgoing or incoming calls based on predefined rules.

  • Call screening – Manage call filtering and blocking.

  • Music & ringing – Customize music and ringing tones for on-hold and incoming calls.

3. Configuring Outbound Caller Identity

In the General tab:

  • You can select the outbound caller identity, which is the phone number displayed when making calls from all of your phone lines.

  • The dropdown allows you to choose the main company number or another assigned number.

  • Click Save to confirm changes.

4. Call Barring Options

  • Call barring toggle – Enable or disable call barring. When enabled, certain types of calls will be restricted.

  • Use individual call barring rules for each phone line – If selected, you can define separate barring rules for each phone line.

  • Class of phone numbers – This section would list phone number categories that are barred, but currently.

  • Click the Save button (bottom right) to apply the changes.


5. Understanding Call Screening Policies

  • Policies – Rules that define how calls are handled.

  • Add Policy – Create a new call screening policy.

  • Edit or Delete Policies – Use the pencil (✏️) or trash (?️) icons to modify or remove policies.


6. Managing Call Screening Modes

  • Default Mode – The standard mode for handling calls.

  • Custom Modes – Additional modes like “meeting” can be added.

  • Dial DTMF to Switch – A code (e.g., "1") used to activate a mode.

  • Expires After (Minutes) – The time limit for temporary modes (e.g., "meeting" expires after 30 minutes).

  • Add Mode – Click to create new call screening modes.

  • After configuring the settings, click the Save button at the bottom to apply changes.


7. Music & Ringing - Available Options

7.1. On-Hold Music

  • Toggle ON/OFF – Enable or disable music for callers placed on hold.

  • Purpose – Improves caller experience by playing music instead of silence.

7.2. Ext-to-Ext Call Distinctive Ring

  • Toggle ON/OFF – Enables a unique ringtone for internal extension-to-extension calls.

  • Purpose – Helps differentiate internal and external calls.
